Healthy Mums is all about helping you to feel happy and good about yourself. We want exercise to be enjoyable and flexible enough to fit around you and your life. Exercise to us doesn't mean stressing about getting fit for the beach, or getting rid of your mummy-tummy. It's about high quality work-out sessions adapted to your fintess levels, whilst giving you the opportunity to connect and engage with other mums in the same situation.

Top exercise tip

Aim to do 30 minutes of aerobic activities most days of the week.

Exercise does not have to mean hours in an expensive gym, it could be something simple, like getting off the bus a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way, or taking the stairs instead of the lift.

Making these small changes can improve your health and well-being. Studies have shown that as little as 30minutes of exercise most days of the week can make a big impact to your life and improve sleep and reduce stress. It can also add as much as 4 years to your life, lower your blood pressure and reduce heart decease risk, stroke, osteoporosis and the risk of developing certain types of cancer.

Remember it's never too late to start exercising!

Top Nutritional Tip

Did you know that the eggs you eat for breakfast are very nutritious?

Eggs are a fantastic source of protein and are also packed with antioxidants which help the body to prevent or slow down the oxidative damage to our bodies. Health problems caused by oxidative damage are for example diabetes, cancer and heart decease. Research has also shown that one egg a day can help with eye degeneration, blindness and can also decrease breast cancer rates! On top of that the yolk contains lecithin; a substance that is good for the function of the liver. So if you're going to add one food to your diet, make it eggs!
